Terrapets is a game which lies somewhere between FarmVille and Pokémon. It is a “terraforming” and “creature-battling” Android game developed by CerebralFix. Although the concept of bringing together FarmVille and Pokémon is unique, Terrapets doesn’t have the punch to keep you hooked to the game for hours at a stretch.
The game is pretty simple: it is a “terraforming” game (a game in which you can build up the surrounding land in any way you like). But here comes the catch. Moving away from Farmville and into Pokémon, instead of looking after your land in order to raise crops, you have to catch, tame and battle fantasy creatures.
You start out with a small wildlife reserve. Firstly, you have to cultivate the land, and turn it into grassland, swamps, forests, lakes, etc. Then, place traps to catch Terrapets.
Once you catch a creature, you have two options: either try and tame it, or battle it outright.
If you choose to battle the creature, you have to pick one of your existing Terrapets to help. All Terrapets have three “moves,” each equivalent to a rock-paper-scissors move. While battling the creature, select a move for each turn, and hope that the opponent creature does a weaker move.
In case you win the battle, the Terrapet you chose to battle will level up. However, you cannot capture the creature you defeated.
